Brian John McDonald, 51, of Greenwood, Arkansas died peacefully in his sleep on November 23, 2016. He was born in Perry County on September 25, 1965 to Jerry Sr. and Donna McDonald.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry McDonald, Sr. and grandparents, Elijah and Eva Lee McDonald of Perry County and John and Wanda Drewry of Bigelow. Brian is survived by his parents, Bill and Donna Cross of Lavaca; one brother, Jerry McDonald, Jr. and wife, Greta of Heavener; one sister, Susan McDonald Grossman and husband, Jay of Lavaca; one nephew, Stephen McDonald and wife, Tori and their girls, Lily and Cami of Richardson, Texas. Brian John is also leaving behind the love of his life, Angie and her daughter, Gracie and his beloved german shepherd, Ruger.
He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He loved baseball, golf and his Hogs. He enjoyed anything outdoors where he could see God's handiwork. He was an employee of Burton Pools and Spas as the warehouse manager and loved the weekly Bible studies held there. Brian was of the Baptist faith and attended Harvest Time Church.
Funeral will be 10 am Wednesday, November 30 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Joe Donahue of First Baptist of Lavaca will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry McDonald, Stephen McDonald, Jay Grossman, Donny Rogers, David Graber, Chad White, Ricky McCormick and Jason Hindmarsh.
The family thanks everyone for their love and support but most of all their prayers. Brian John and his mom loved watching John Hagee ministries together and talked often about the truth of God's word and the promises, love and forgiveness He offers to all of us who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me." Jesus is mankind's only hope. John 14:1-7 has been such a comfort this week. Your momma will see you soon, sweet child of mine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Sebastian County Humane Society, 3800 Kelly Hwy, Fort Smith, AR 72917
